Three Weeks and Change: 24 Days to Departure

With just over three weeks 'til I make my way South I'm still prepping, but overall, I'm ready to roll. 

24 days and counting, 22 days of walking.  

My mind has been set on taking this journey for nearly a year. October 1st 2011 at 12:30AM I walked among the tents at Dewey Square. I saw folks huddled under tarps on the soaking ground in the pouring rain.  Maybe it's the rain, on a night just like tonight just under a year ago, my world abruptly shifted, and expanded. 

Dear friends, much to my chagrin...

It been a hell of a month...

I've got hands, feet, and 2.5 pounds of grey matter that I am applying to this walkabout conundrum. And a conundrum it is. I've always been one to bite off more than I can chew, and I can say for sure that's the case with this one.  My motivation for walking 462 miles remains the same. However the hubris of thinking I could arrange a project including curriculum in such a short period of time is just plain silly.

It sounds as though you've found your niche and I applaud you, even though I'm not sure where you stand on certain issues, but...., as the old saying goes, "I will fight for your right to your opinion."  We as Americans, tend to be sheep, as we bemoan the fact that our rights have been chiseled away by the very same government that is supposed to protect them.  As I look back on my life, I have seen so many of our precious rights taken away ever so slowly, but steadily.  It's sad and 'yes', we do need to actually get up off our big super-sized butts and make a stand, or we will loose even more of them until this country is a completely Socialized society and our once revered system is completely gone for good.

I just wanted to let you know that everything is going well here in Boston. I'm working for an internet radio station (UNregular Radio) that's founding tenant is free speech. Personally I think they started it so they could tell naughty jokes on the air. Little did they know (maybe not, who knows) that it'd turn into a lightning rod for political activism in Boston.
